We are our bodies, our emotions, and our spirituality … all these things combine to give us our identity, determine our health, and make us who we are.
The mind-body-spirit connection is that we are all more than just our thoughts.
Our beliefs and attitudes play a primary role in our thinking patterns. Our day to day thoughts has an impact on our emotions and feelings. Our emotions and feelings impact our behaviors. Therefore, our thought patterns play a significant role in our emotional and physical health – which is why it is essential to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.
Nourishing your mind, body, and spirit is an effort that you must intentionally make.
Let’s break it down:
Changing your mindset and/or thinking can impact how you feel both mentally and emotionally.
I challenge you to try to take some time to listen to how you talk to yourself. I also want you to dig deep about what you think of yourself. This will give you an insight into where you can change certain vernacular, thought patterns, and attitudes towards yourself.
The body is essential because it is how we function; it is how we connect to the physical world with our 5 senses. On a regular basis, you must take time to relax and let go of the problems of life. Aside from this, nurturing your body also involves eating the right kind of food and daily exercise. After all, we all know, health is wealth!
Lastly, a significant aspect of our well-being is spirit. Nurturing your spirit is an effective way to improve your relationship with God and gaining a deeper understanding of your purpose and inner peace. Connecting to your spirit helps you live your values more completely and feel better about the choices you make. When we deny this part of ourselves, we don’t operate in our highest ability. Often, I see people (unknowingly) self-sabotage because they are not living within their own integrity.
As people we sometimes try to cope with stress with methods of escape, however, this behavior can further worsen the effect of stress on our physical health. Finding a balance of mind, body, and spirit can bring a healthy state of mind, more fulfillment, and a better outlook on life.
Bringing this change can be difficult, but you are not alone! I am always here to help guide you through your transformation and balancing the connection of your mind, body, and spirit.
